Irish stitch book cover
By altering the shape of the area worked, an 18th century pocketbook design may be made into a cover for a small book. This was commonly done in the period, usual for a personal copy of a hymnal or devotional text. When we started making these, they were usually used as a serious upgrade from the vinyl, bank-issued cover for a checkbook. Now that checkbooks see much less use, our customers tend to use them for a pocket diary, date book or other slim volume. We can easily make them to order if the stock sizes (about 4" x 7", closed) don't suit your needs.
