Blue & white checked Doll's Apron

$ 22.00
A simple style of apron that was worn to protect clothing during the 18th and 19th centuries, this miniature version is made in the same manner as one of full size.
Women's clothing of this time period was most often held in place by the ingenious use of tape ties. Either hanging loose or drawn through fabric casings, they could fasten or gather simple garments; as well as become flat during laundry and pressing.
The bib of an apron like this was probably held in place with straight pins -- even in the full sized, work-a-day version (ouch!). We'll leave that to your discretion, based on how and by whom it will be used/worn. Short pins, sometimes used for sequin work, are the ideal size for miniature use.

Even though dolls and their clothing have been played with by children since the beginning of time, child safety concerns of our time suggests that our dolls and their clothing have enough small parts to render them unsuitable for children younger than 9 years old.
